Emerging the Unknown-Nadiah Suraya
Nadiah Suraya's work is very spontaneous. Her paintings have heavy brush strokes, thick and vibrant colours. She enjoys paintings young girls and loves to sign her name "NADIAH" as big as possible in all her paintings. She is very expressive and most of her paintings are related to what she experienced in her daily activities at school, home and sometimes holidays.

Repetition and Practice
Special children with poor motor skills often have problems controlling the pressure of brush when they paint. This is usually seen in their paintings with bold strokes and thick lines. This takes time to practice and through repetition, children are able to control the pressure when painting. Teaching them to handle different types of brush will help them to paint better too. Sometimes to control the pressure of brush on the canvas, they must understand some key words like "touch"( low tone ) means "light and thin" line and "press"(longer tone) means "bold and thick" line. What seems easy for us may not be for them. Always put yourself in their shoes to understand their limitations.

Be Free with Art
Learning and Teaching process should be relax. I would like to use the key word Free to talk about a child learning process.
F= Fun
R= Repetition
E= Encouragement
E= Expansion
A Fun class allows a child to communicate freely to his teacher during lesson. A Fun interactive class builds a better understanding between the teacher and student. Most of the activities focused on creating works that involved repetition. Repetition is a good learning method to build the confident of a child. Even though each work produced are different every week but the style in term of creating lines, shapes, dots and dabbing of paints are the same. Encouragement is important to everyone and is extra important to give praise to special child. When a child is motivated, he will naturally enjoys the process. This process will help him expand his skills in art making. Expansion in this case takes place for the child to be more creative and slowly able to paint and starts creating work by himself. It takes time to grow but when he starts to paint... is hard to tell him to stop! That is the journey of being FREE!

Expressing Joy and Happiness
She was so excited to share the fun she had during her holidays. She kept repeating the word hotel and airport the moment she entered my art studio. I am sure it was a wonderful holiday experience for her. The colors of her work itself was full of energy. Colors were bright and bold. The way Nadiah shared her experience is through her paintings. Expressing her view on canvas builds a better connection for Nadiah and her parents.

Keeper of Crayons
A child's attention to every single piece of crayon is like God's love for each of us. In God's eyes we are all equally important and have a place in his plan. Just like a box of Crayons to a Child.
