As a child, Irfan who is a Down Syndrome, was born in February 1984, had struggled with speech delay and fine motor skills. At the age of 6, he attended Kiwanis then was given a place in the Government School, as one of the pioneer students in the special class. He was taught languages, crafts and cooking. But he was not able to do much, due to his eyes. He has Amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye. It was a struggle for him to do most of the craftwork in school. He started his painting class with his mentor, Seeling in September 2015. His teacher had explored his ability in painting on different topics and realised that Irfan has limitation to achieve certain visual ecstatic in his work. The strokes in his works usually can only go to a certain length and his teacher has to keep shifting and moving his canvas around. He has poor hand and motor coordination due to his visual disorder and as a result he is unable to paint straight lines from one end to the other end. His paintings emphasize more on exploration of short strokes with different hue of colours. This is Irfan first group show with Tutti Art Club. Now he has done more than 40 pieces of paintings. His theme for this show is a series of colourful Hills and Mountains.
